So far as I know, there are two sources for technical manuals: Haynes publishing (www.haynes.com) or Honda (www.honda.com). The Haynes manual is cheaper and more easily available, but also much less detailed.

My 1984 550 F1 has the same trouble. It doesn't seem to be leaking (the concrete it's parked over is still clean) and it doesn't smoke, so I'm not sure exactly where the oil goes, but I use a litre every month or two. I have no idea how to cure it without completely overhauling the engine.

I am wondering if there are any CB type motorcycle fans out there. I just restored a 1978 Honda Hawk 400 Cruiser (CB400). It is a great bike. I unfortunately have no idea how to send you before and after photos. I have been told that the CB type cruisers are fairly rare, most people wanted the CBX type motorcycles at that time. My point: It seems we had an untitled 1981 CBX400 that we "borrowed" some parts from. What I have (left) is:
Tank - grey
Side covers - also grey
motor (no carbs)
Wheels they are mag type, with the front brakes in tact
Lights
The frame
Seat - also grey
All the nuts and bolts that go with the parts we "borrowed"
Let me know what you are looking for.

Winter Report:
Preparation = zero.
Money spent = zero.
Miles ridden in the driving rain = way too many :)
Been riding the bike all through the English winter, which involves stygian darkness (we're further north than Toronto here in London), freezing temperatures, driving rain and large amounts of salt on the roads, but very little actual snow. The bike generally stood up to the conditions pretty well, except that infrequent cleaning has resulted in some pretty furry alloy on the engine cases. The DID chain is still undamaged, despite infrequent lubrication and wet conditions, likewise the excellent Motad exhaust system, which has been on the bike since I bought it two winters and 12,000 miles (19,500km) ago.
The Pirelli Strada's are only just starting to show signs of wear (unlike the Bridgestone BT 45's which came before them). The drawback to using the Strada's is in the bike's wet handling, which isn't as confident as on the sportier rubber, but that's to be expected and never gets unpredictable.
The bike also made it's first journeys with a passenger this winter: performance and handling were better than I expected but the braking was bad enough to scare me. CBX's are renowned for their terrible brakes I know, but they simply aren't adequate with a passenger on board. Anyone know of a cheap way to improve the CBX's brakes?
Just trying to keep the site alive,

take a couple of seconds to die down or drop when I close the throttle which makes changing down difficult as it

do drop. I sent the bike back and the carbs were overhauled and they said the carbs were fine. Whats causing the
problem and how do I fix it?
This couldn't be something as simple as a worn throttle cable could it? If the carbs are OK I can't think of anything else it could be. When I bought my CBX it suffered from a heavy clutch, although it was smooth enough. It turned out to be a frayed cable, which snapped in traffic - I learned a lot about clutchless gearchanges that day...
